For war veterans: How do you feel about your wartime experiences?

I’m posting this question, because I’m really curious. I know that in combat situations, it’s often a matter of either killing or being killed. How often do you think about your experiences? Do you ever feel guilty about having had to kill someone? Why or why not? Explain.
Don’t jump to conclusions and make ASSumptions, folks! I’m not criticizing anyone here. Rather, I’m asking a simple question.

Interesting question. I should state up front that I do not, nor have I ever supported the war in Iraq. My experiences over there only confirmed the futility and waste of our efforts.

HOWEVER…..I signed on the dotted line, and I did my duty to the best of my ability. I don’t feel the least bit bad about having shot bad guys…because they WERE bad guys, and were trying to kill me. All politics aside, the world is a better place without them and the thousands of terrorists like them.
